Secunderabad railway station hoisted a gigantic tricolour on a 100-foot pole at its main entrance, becoming the first station of the South Central Railway (SCR) to do so. It is an attempt to rekindle the spirit of nationalism and instil a sense of pride among rail passengers.
The flag was hoisted by senior cabinman R. Ashoka Chary
in the presence of Station Manager C.B.N. Prasad and GRP SP Ashok Kumar. The flag would be safeguarded by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The event is the result of the Railway Board directing all ‘A1’ category railway stations to hoist the national flag on their premises, a press release said.
