In the wake of the ongoing protests by constables of different battalions of the Telangana Special Police (TGSP) and their families, there is a change in the security arrangements at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s residence, with the TGSP personnel deployed there being removed on Monday.

Taking this decision, the Chief Minister’s security wing replaced the TGSP personnel with Armed Reserve personnel. The 22-odd TGSP personnel, who were guarding the Chief Minister’s residence on all sides,

have been replaced with the Armed Reserve personnel with immediate effect.

The move comes in the wake of 10 TGSP personnel being dismissed from service late on Sunday on charges of being involved in the ongoing agitation, while 39 constables were suspended on similar charges, also on Sunday. The punitive action against the constables came after several of them took out protest marches wearing uniform on the campuses of the TGSP battalions.
