Pensions to single women, the scheme intended to provide financial assistance, will be launched from June 2 in Hyderabad. The scheme is aimed at helping the single women who have no family support and under financial stress. Women get Rs 1,000 a month under the scheme.
"Registrations for the scheme have already begun from April and will come end on May 13. The Hyderabad Collectorate has received 1,415 applications so far and the number might go up 5,000," said an official.
Hyderabad District Joint Collector M Prashanti said that women can enrol in Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDO) (rural), through MeeSeva
(urban) Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, and Tahsildar offices.She said applicants are required to submit photo copies Aadhaar identity, birth certificates, school leaving certificates for age proof, bank saving account passbooks or postal savings account passbooks, ration cards, income certificates.
“So far we have got 1,415 applications, we expect more application, said Prasanthi.“ In the single women pension verification, we take the signature of any two neighbours as a proof. ” said Prasanthi. The Joint Collector said that the names of the beneficiaries will be displayed in all mandal offices on May 22.
