The State government on Monday has extended the last date for the submission of single woman applications till May 21.
Chief Secretary SP Singh said that to facilitate more beneficiaries the date has been extended and asked the district collectors to ensure that every single woman would be able to apply for new pension scheme.
He wanted the
collectors to complete the entire procedure involving in the sanctioning process and be ready to ensure the distribution of pensions on June 2.
Till now nearly Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) department has received 1.25 lakh applications under the scheme. The department has been expecting nearly 2-3 lakh single woman applications.
