SIT told to submit status report in Nayeem case

The High Court at Hyderabad has ordered the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to submit status report on the progress of its investigation into Nayeem case.It also ordered the Home Department to file a counter affidavit to the Public Interest Litigation petition filed by senior CPI leader K. Narayana seeking CBI probe into Nayeem case.

division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shankar Narayan gave these orders while hearing the arguments of senior counsel S Satyam Reddy in the PIL case. 

The counsel informed the bench that there were allegations that the police officials and political leaders were hand-in-glove with the gangster.
