Uppal police arrested six persons and seized 68 fake IPL tickets which they had forged by copying the barcode of the access accreditation cards issued to them. Police identified the main accused as K. Govardhan Reddy, sub-contractor at Euphony Events and Entertainment, a manpower supplier for events, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan said.

The accused, Govardhan Reddy, Peggidi Mrudul Vamsi, Mohammad Faheem, Akheel Ahmed, Iveli Sravan Kumar and Mohammad Ajaz enrolled themselves as validators for IPL matches and were

issued access cards. They sent the scans to Akheel Ahmed who runs a  photocopying shop at Chikkadpally, Chauhan said.

Sravan who worked in an online tickets redemption counter at an outlet in Tarnaka provided the sample empty template of the ticket which is used for printing tickets.

The accused created about 200 tickets for the SRS vs Mumbai Indians match of April 18, and sold 132 of them. Police recovered the remaining 68 fake tickets.
