Six die in road mishap in Warangal

Six persons died and another person suffered severe injuries when a speeding lorry hit the auto rickshaw in which they were travelling at Yellandu village in Warangal district in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Kureri Suresh, 50, Amith Mandal, 20, Jaboth Kureri, 25, Nitin Mandal, 20 and Rupchand, 35. All victims were labourers from Rajasthan, residing at Labour Colony in Warangal and the autorickshaw driver, identified as Battu Srinivas, 42, a resident of



AC Reddy Nagar in Warangal town.

Police Commissioner A.V. Ranganath said six members including an auto rickshaw driver died and another person, Ameer, suffered severe injuries and was undergoing treatment in the MGM hospital. He said that the lorry driver from Rajasthan was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. 

The police arrested the lorry driver and registered a case against him.
