IndiGo Airlines continues to suffer from disruptions to and from Hyderabad with at least six flights slated for arrival into the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport cancelled on Tuesday. Similarly, at least four departures from RGIA — to Goa, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Coimbatore — were called off during the day, with many complaining of being intimated at the last minute. The cancellations apart, the airline’s network also reported multiple delays, in arrivals and departures.
While sources attributed the disruptions to a shortage of pilots, IndiGo maintained that it was due to the bad
weather. A statement issued on Tuesday read: “IndiGo is slightly adjusting its flight schedule in the coming days by approximately 30 flights per day. This is in order to stabilise the network and operations impacted due to various ongoing Notams and predicted bad weather in the coming days. In order to avoid inconvenience, these adjustments are being made in advance enabling adequate notice to passengers. They are being accommodated close to their original flight schedule. These adjustments amount to 1% to 2% of the originally planned number of flights.
