In Telangana, six Members of Legislature Council (MLCs) belonging to the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad late last night. They took this surprising move and joined the Congress party soon after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy returned from Delhi last night.

The MLCs who

joined the Congress party include Dande Vittal, Bhanu Prasad, B. Dayanand, Prabhakar Rao, E. Mallesham and Basavaraju Saraiah. With this, the strength of the ruling Congress in the 40-member Upper House of the Legislature has increased to 12. The Upper House has one MLC each of the MIM and the BJP, and two independents while remaining are of BRS.
