Chief Secretary SK Joshi wanted virtual monitoring of the activities of Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) who have been tasked with collection of data in a dynamic pattern village-wise and farmer-wise on the progress of seed sowing and crop extent.
Talking to Collectors during a video conference, he wanted the Agriculture Extension Officers to make use of the tabs provided to them for updating the data from time to time.
The Chief Secretary had a review meeting with Collectors and other departments heads concerned as part of the video conference on the implementation of Harita Haram, seasonal conditions, distribution of pensions, preparations for conduct of Census- 2021 and Swachh Bharat Mission.
He said the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, who had accorded top priority to the welfare of farmers, was firm on virtual monitoring of the functioning of the AEOs as they had been playing a decisive role.
Adhar Sinha, Principal Secretary (GAD) wanted the Collectors to ensure the village and town-wise registers pertaining to the population census furnished along with the details of the urban agglomeration.
Instructional guidelines were already sent conducting the population Census pretest in places such as Warangal urban, Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar. The selection and
training of the enumerators has to be taken up at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary asked the Collectors concerned to conduct Grama Sabhas as per the PESA Act to take a final decision on the 109 wine shops in tribal areas. Resolutions adopted by Grama Sabhas should be obtained in a fortnight as the new excise policy will come into effect on October 1.
Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) Vikash Raj wanted the geo-tagging process of toilets constructed to be completed well before the districts concerned are declared open defecation free. Works on toilets also should be completed by August 15.
Principal Secretary for Roads and buildings, Sunil Sharma wanted the Collectors to conduct meetings of the committees tasked with road safety and furnish the minutes. He also stressed the need for identifying the places with frequent accidents and take steps to avoid recurrence with the help of joint teams of the Roads and Building Department, police and road transport.
Chief Secretary said the protection of the saplings being planted as part of the Harita Haram was more important. He wanted saplings that are grown up to the desired level be taken up for planting. He asked the Collectors to step up plantation activity as the State received widespread rains.
