The slot booking process for registration of non-agriculture properties in a hassle-free manner started on Friday following High Court orders. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar launched the process at BRK Bhavan here following instructions from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday.

Property owners can now book their slot at the Stamps and Registration department’s website www.registration.telangana.gov.in. After completion of registration, an e-passbook would be issued and within a week or 10 days, a regular passbook would be issued.

According Somesh Kumar, the department had taken foolproof measures for the safety and protection of data and a call centre (18005994788) with 24 lines was also launched to help people with the registration process. A separate facility has been provided for realtors seeking slot bookings.

Registration fee can either be paid online or through a challan and based on the slot booking, people can visit the registration office concerned for completing their transaction, Somesh Kumar said, adding that existing charges would be applicable for the registration. The buyer and seller along with the witnesses should be present at the registration office along with their identity proofs.

Once details of the property to be registered are entered, details of registration charges, stamp duty and other charges would be generated. Presently, 24 slots can be booked in each registration office and depending on the demand, the slots would be increased.

PTIN assessment number would be entered and in case anyone does not have PTIN number, they can apply at the local civic bodies to get it in two days. In case of technical problem, the staff in the war room would resolve the issue. As of now, 96 per cent of the services have been launched and efforts are to start the remaining services soon.

Presently, slot booking is available for transactions related to sale, mortgage with and without possession, deposit of title deed, gift, development agreement and sale agreement without possession among others.

Within 15 minutes of the launch of slot booking for registration of non-agri properties, two slots were booked and 37 till 7pm. About Rs 85 lakh was remitted towards applicable fees and duties.

As many as 17,567 persons visited the site while 3,987 users registered on the system and total transactions initiated were 4,143. The major advantage of the facility is that people can book slots online including from Mee Seva centres for a fee of Rs 200 for full transaction. “It’s a simple system, and there is a provision for the generation of deed document as well,” Somesh Kumar said.

A new window has been provided for builders and real-estate developers to upload new properties in bulk. Accordingly, 451 builders and developers have uploaded 93,874 properties on the first day while local bodies generated 12,699 t-PINS. These properties are likely to come up for transactions shortly, according to the office of Chief Secretary.
