From February 1, 50,000 connections in the 173 slums in the city would get daily water supply, said Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Managing Director, M Dana Kishore.
To create awareness among residents over the importance of saving water and avoid wastage, the board is roping in different non-governmental organisations.To this effect, Kishore held a meeting with representatives of different NGOs and appealed them to conduct programmes in educating the residents on the importance
of saving water.
Earlier in the day, the HMWSSB MD inspected the works being taken up in Malkajgiri and expressed dissatisfaction over the road restoration works after completing pipeline laying works.
He directed officials to submit a report on the road restoration works and the sub-standard quality works identified in different areas. In case the sub- standard works were beyond 50 per cent, such roads would be relaid by GHMC and the HMWSSB would bear the expenditure of such works, he said.
