All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi demanded that the government immediately freeze the accounts of the Exhibition Society and order enquiry into its functioning. Reacting to the fire mishap reported at the Numaish, Owaisi said that the Society is indulging in several financial irregularities. “The mishap and the activities of the Society should be probed as there are several irregularities in allotment of stalls and collection of rents from the stall owners,” he said.
He stated that it is due to sheer
negligence of the society that such huge property loss was reported in Wednesday fire mishap.“Thousands of people were at the venue when the fire broke out. Basic fire fighting equipment was not installed by the exhibition society which collects huge money on pretext of sponsoring the education of the deprived,” he said.The MIM president demanded that the State government properly compensate traders who have invested their hard earned money and some have obtained loans to conduct the business.
