To avoid inconvenience to rail users and ensure safety and security, the South Central Railway (SCR) has issued an advisory to the rail passengers in view of the Secunderabad Railway Station upgradation work, which were going on at brisk pace.
Accordingly, signage boards have been provided at station entry and exits, in circulating areas, on platforms and on Foot over Bridges for easy identification and for smooth flow of passenger’s movement.
New entry has been opened at Gate No.2 in to Platform No.1 along with general booking counter facility, enquiry and a waiting hall with holding capacity of 750 passengers and with space to provided 500 additional seating.
As Gate No. 4 is closed, an additional entry was provided at Gate No. 3 and 3B (opposite Swathi Hotel). A new entry has been opened at Gate No.8 in to Platform No.10 along with general booking facility.
The SCR officials said Commercial Inspectors have been deputed at
station and round the clock monitoring is being done to report and rectify any failure of equipment and to take prompt action if any untoward incidents arise. At any given time, sufficient ticket checking staff is made available at the station for crowd management.
Platforms were being nominated well in advance so that passengers can disperse to respective platforms instead of waiting on Platforms 1 and 10 and rushing up to catch the train in the last minute.
Officials said frequent announcements were being done regarding platforms, late arrivals, Divyangjan coach position etc. Additional RPF personnel deployed at entry and exit gates, platforms, concourses and Foot over Bridges to manage passenger flow efficiently. Adequate fire safety inspections are being conducted and fire safety protocols being followed.
