Specialised drone services to extend various services to remotely located health care facilities were launched at AIIMS Bibinagar on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual program on Tuesday inaugurated the drone services at Bibinagar AIIMS from AIIMS New Delhi.

To demonstrate the application of the technology, AIIMS Bibinagar officials conducted a drone test experimentally.

Two drones were flown from AIIMS Bibnagar to the District Hospital in Bhongir and the PHC in Kondamadugu, which is located



18 kilometers from Bibinagar.

Samples of TB patients were collected from the District Hospital and sent back to AIIMS Bibinagar through the drone.

AIIMS officials said that this experiment was conducted to showcase the use of drones in providing better medical services to patients.

Prime Minister Modi participated in this program virtually. AIIMS Director Vikas Bhatia, AIIMS doctors, and district medical department officials also virtually participated.
