A car rammed into the Dabeerpura flyover railing early on Saturday. No one was injured in the accident.
The driver, who is yet to be identified, was on his way from Chanchalguda to Dabeerpura. He lost control of the vehicle and hit the railings at around 6.30 am, police said. "It is said that instead of applying the brake the driver stepped on the pedal. The left part of the car including the engine was completely damaged and about three metres of the railing was damaged.
The concrete portion of the broken railing fell on the Chanchalguda
road, luckily nobody was passing by at that time, police said. The driver was alone in the vehicle and fled leaving the car, Dabeerpura police inspector G. Koteshwar Rao said.
"We have seized the car, bearing number TS 22 ET 6323, installed barricades and posted our staff to ensure that no one passes through the broken part of the railing till it is repaired, Koteshwar Rao said. "We have registered a case of rash and negligent driving, identified the driver, and our teams will question him, the inspector said.
