Nizamabad: Around 50,000 cusecs of inflows continued into the Sriramsagar project on Sunday. The constant rains in the catchment areas of the Godavari river in Nizamabad, Nirmal, and the nearby Nanded district in Maharashtra increased the inflows. The SRSP officials decided to open the gates at any time to allow floodwaters to downstream of the Godavari.

The current water level in the Sriramsagar project is 1,090.60 feet, compared to the entire reservoir level of 1,091.00 feet. Storage capacity reached 88.112 tmc, with a gross storage capacity of 90 tmc. On Sunday, instant inflows from upstream

areas hit 51,017 cusecs. Meanwhile, 14,080 cusecs of water outflow continued for the drinking water needs of Kakatiya, Saraswathi canals, and Mission Bhagiratha.

SRSP officials issued a flood warning on the banks of the Godavari on Sunday. They stated that the project's gates may be opened at any time and that residents in Nizamabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, and Jagtial should be cautious. They stated that police and revenue officials should take the appropriate precautions to prevent livestock gazers and shepherds from entering the river banks.
