Justice B Siva Sankar Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday suspended implementation of orders of Wakf Board, which took over the management of several educational institutions run by Anwar-ulUloom educational society in the city.
The stay orders, which will be in force for six weeks, were passed after writ peti tions were filed by Anwar ul Uloom and other educational institutions. They pleaded that early on Tuesday , some people from Wakf Board claimed they are taking over the institutions as the management committees have been superseded. The educational institutions cannot be put to such
hardship in the beginning of the academic year when admissions are in progress, their counsel said. The orders were pasted on walls of the institutions. The judge heard at length the counsel for petitioners and counsel for Wakf Board.
The judge passed the interim suspension order, keeping in view allegations that there are huge procedural lapses. Officials have to publish it in a gazette before taking over properties, the counsel said.
The board did not follow rules, except resorting to forcible takeover, the counsel said.
