A Sudan national died at the RGI Airport on Sunday morning minutes before boarding a repatriation flight to her native country.
The passenger, Hieba Mohamed Taha Ali, 62, was supposed to travel on the J7 227 flight Badr Airlines (Hyderabad – Muscat – Sudan) evacuation flight for Sudan nationals from the city.
She was in the city for treatment for a health issue at a corporate hospital for the last few months and was on the way back to her country
through the special repatriation flight, sources said.
At the airport, Hieba Mohamed was sitting on a wheelchair when she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital at the RGI Airport where doctors pronounced her dead.
The Embassy of Sudan officials were informed about the death of the passenger to make further arrangements.
The flight later left for Sudan at 10.15 a.m.
