G. Sudheer Babu, taking charge as the Rachakonda police commissioner on Wednesday, emphasised stringent policing to ensure peace and security, with priority on women and staff welfare.
Holding a meeting with DCPs and ACPs after taking charge, he first thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for giving him the responsibility and said that all necessary measures would be taken to maintain peace and ensure security in Rachakonda.
He said that technology, such as CCTV cameras, will be used to prevent traffic problems and efforts would be made for quick convictions to control crime.
"Steps will be taken to ensure that all departments, like
civil, AR, battalion and traffic, work in coordination. Strict measures will be taken for the care of women and She Teams will be strengthened," Babu said.
He said: "We will clamp down on the supply and use of drugs, and awareness programmes will be conducted to prevent the youth from falling victim to drugs and growing cybercrime."
Babu, having already served as an additional commissioner of police in Rachakonda, has extensive knowledge of the areas under his commissionerate. He said that the police would work in coordination with the Cyberabad and Hyderabad commissionerates in public interest and to resolve problems quickly.
