Three cows died, while three other cattle received injuries when an unidentified wild animal, suspected to be a tiger, attacked them in the forests of Pipalkoti village in Pipalkotimandal on Saturday.

Locals said that three cows died after being attacked by an unknown wild animal, when they were grazing in the forests near the village. They suspected that the cattle might have been

mauled to death by a tiger.

Forest officials said the identity of the wild animal could be established only after recording its pugmarks and inspecting the injuries of the cattle. They said steps were being taken to quickly provide compensation to the farmers in the event of cattle killed by wild animals. They urged the villagers not to venture deep inside of forests for grazing cattle.
