Hyderabad: In the Chitrapuri Colony parking lot, an EcoSport SUV ran over a 7-year-old boy and another child, inflicting serious injuries.
On February 18, at 8 p.m., the incident occurred. With severe injuries, the boy who was critically injured was admitted to KIMS hospital. The other child got away with only minor wounds.
At the Raidurgam police station, a case was booked after the boy's mother filed a complaint. Under Motor Vehicle Acts 337 and 184, the driver, Venkatesh, 32, was the
subject of the complaint for careless driving.
The incident occurred as the SUV moved up from the basement parking lot onto the road.
When the driver left the parking lot and made a left turn, he ran over two of the three children who were playing on the ground. One of them sustained minor wounds, while the other was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The police said that the mishap was because of careless driving and not blaring prior to going ahead.
