Social worker Syed Osman Azhar Maqsusi, 38, better known for uplifting the lives of people from marginalised communities by providing free food to them, received the 27th Yudhvir Memorial Award on Monday. Kalvakuntla Kavitha handed over the award to him at KLN Prasad Auditorium.

Starting from 2012 by feeding one woman, Maqsusi now, feeds more than 150 people every day under the Chanchalguda



flyover. He said, “My mother has always been very supportive. She inspired me by saying, ‘Don’t run behind money, earn respect in life’.” “Hunger has no religion. So, whoever comes, my team and I try to feed them,” he said. He completed 940 days of his free-food campaigning programme on Monday. Maqsusi also runs an NGO named Sani Welfare Foundation.
