The Telangana government is
looking at the second phase of the incubation space by early next year. The
space, which is going to build on a space of 3,50,000 square feet, will entail
an investment of Rs 180 crore.
The State IT Minister K T Rama Rao
had announced in June 2016 that the second phase is scheduled to come in the
next three years, but with the tenders being finalised, the government is
expediting the process.
T-Hub Founder and COO Srinivas Kollipara informed that the
construction of the building has started and it is
likely to come up near a 20
acre game park planned by the government in Hi-Tech city area. “We should be
getting the operations of the building by early 2018. In addition to startups,
the space will also house corporate research and development centres,
incubators and investors as well,” he added.
T-Hub is a public-private
partnership between the Telangana government, academic institutions and key
private sector players. It was setup in collaboration with IIIT-Hyderabad, ISB
and NALSAR University of Law on November 5, 2015. The centre houses a 70,000
square feet building called the CatalysT and has about 250 startups working in
it.
