Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday inaugurated Potti Sriramulu Nagar 2BHK housing colony built under the Telangana government’s Dignity Housing Scheme. The housing society, which is spread over 0.7 acres with 162 two-bedroom houses, was built at a cost of Rs 14 crore.
On the occasion, the beneficiaries lauded the dignity housing project of the State government. “We still remember how difficult it was for us to live in the slum settlement. Now, it has completely changed and we never expected such a decent living. I thank the State government for giving us these houses for free,” a woman addressing the crowd at the inaugural
function, said.
Addressing the gathering Talasani said, “Our Chief Minister is God for the poor. Two other societies located in Sanathnagar including GY Reddy Compound 2BHK Housing Colony and Golla Komaraiah Colony 2BHK Housing Colony will be inaugurated in the coming month,” he said.
The State government has also taken up construction of the temple with Rs 35 lakh on the request of beneficiaries. Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi who attended the inaugural function said that the revenue through rents generated from the shops that have been built in the housing society should be utilised for maintaining the lifts.
