Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav reviewed preparations of the Bonalu festival at the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad, with officials from the temple management, police, endowment and health departments and the GHMC.
The festivities commence at Golconda and extend to Secunderabad and the Old City. The minister said the government has been organising Bonalu in a grand manner ever since the formation of Telangana state, following the directives of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
The government is dedicated to supporting private temples financially, promoting the celebration of the Bonalu festival as a representation
of our cultural heritage, the minister added.
As part of the arrangements, temporary CCTV cameras will be installed, and drinking water made available to devotees. Continuous power supply will be ensured through the provision of generators and transformers. The minister instructed the traffic police to divert vehicles on roads leading to the temple during the festival.
Additionally, extra sanitation staff will be appointed to maintain cleanliness in the temple surroundings. Special medical health camps will also be organised under the supervision of the health department.
