Teachers polls will be held tomorrow

The counting of votes for the Mahaboobnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Teachers’ Constituency elections will be held on March 22 at the Amberpet indoor stadium from 8 am onwards. The elections, which were rescheduled on March 9 due to glitches, will take place on Sunday i.e; 19th March'2017.

Officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said all arrangements were in place for the elections, which will go on till 6 pm. Twelve candidates are in



the fray. In all, 23,789 teachers are listed as voters, of which 13,069 are men and 10,719 women.

Returning Officer Adwaith Kumar Singh warned of stringent action against bogus voting. He said a few complaints were already lodged about the possibility of bogus voting. Voters will be permitted to cast their votes only after producing valid identification cards. The indelible ink will be marked on the middle finger of the left hand, he said.
