HYDERABAD: Six persons, including two farmers and a software engineer, died in separate road mishaps in the city in the last 24 hours.
In one mishap on Monday morning, a Bolero (AP 29 TB 4063) heading towards Kandukur from the city, strayed on to the other side of the road while overtaking a vehicle and hit a bike (TS 08 EQ 9573) coming from the opposite direction near Kothur gate on the Srisailam state highway. Two farmers travelling on the bike -- Srinivas,30, and Ramulu,55, of Potubanda Tanda in Muccherla near Kandukur -- suffered multiple injuries and died on the
spot.
After hitting the bike, the Bolero veered off the road, crashed into a tree and turned turtle. The driver, Ramesh,30, suffered severe injuries and succumbed during treatment at a nearby hospital. Two passengers in the vehicle, Sattaiah and Hemanth, escaped with injuries.
Maheswaram inspector A Manmohan said the accident was a result of rash driving by the Bolero driver Ramesh. Police shifted the bodies to Osmania hospital for post-mortem and registered a case under Sections 304-A (causing death due to rash or negligent act) and 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act) of the IPC.
