C Madhu, a GHMC bill collector in Rajendranagar Circle, was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he allegedly demanded Rs.1 lakh as bribe and accepted Rs.45,000 through his accomplice V. Ramesh from the complainant. 

The bribe was demanded for showing official favour to not to hike property tax of the complainant's factory, the ACB officials said,



adding that the accused Madhu performed public duty improperly and dishonestly. 

The bribe amount was recovered from Ramesh at his instance. Right hand fingers of Ramesh yielded positive in the chemical test. Officials arrested Madhu and Ramesh and produced before the special court for ACB cases after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
