Telangana on Friday crossed the landmark of administering over one crore Covid-19 vaccine doses since the launch of the vaccination drive on January 16. As on Friday evening, health authorities here administered 1,00,53,358 vaccine doses, including both first and second Covid doses across 33 districts.

Out of the 1,00,53,358 vaccine doses, 86,06,292 individuals received the first dose while the remaining 14,47,066 individuals received the first and second dose of Covid vaccines in Telangana.

To commemorate the milestone, a get-together was organized by Director of Public Health (DPH), Dr G Srinivasa Rao here on Friday. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Health Secretary SAM Rizvi, who were

special invitees, congratulated the Health department for achieving the milestone.

“We take this opportunity to promise that we will strive hard to deliver Covid vaccines to the remaining beneficiaries across the State. Telangana has adopted a unique but efficient strategy of vaccinating high-risk groups on priority basis. The strategy will weaken the subsequent surges of Covid infections in the near future,” Dr Srinivasa Rao said.

The three top districts that have received the maximum number of Covid vaccine doses (first and second dose included) are Hyderabad (22,30,655), Medchal-Malkajgiri (11,86,140) and Rangareddy (12,78,287).
