Telangana announces awards to 20 eminent women on International Women's Day

20 eminent women from various fields have been chosen by the Telangana government and will be awarded on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8.

The awardees included Gymnastics Bronze Medalist Aruna Reddy, Hyderabad Metro Rail Driver Supriya Sanam, movie director Nandini Reddy, Women's Empowerment Rupa Bhadramma, Delhi RTC driver Saritha and revolutionary songs singer Yadnuri



Padma among others.

Chaired by Women and Child Welfare Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, the Celebration Committee selected the women from various fields such as education, medical, sports, literature, dance, music, agriculture and community services for the awards.

A cash prize of Rs 1 lakh will be honoured to the awardees on International Women's Day.
