The winter session of the Telangana State Legislature is likely to commence from October 23 or 25. Chief Minister K Chadrashekhar Rao is expected to take a decision with regard to the date in a couple of days. Sources said that the ensuing Assembly session will be held for four-five days.
The session is likely to result in a standoff between the ruling TRS and the main opposition Congress. While the State government wants to introduce eight bills during the session, the Congress Legislative Party which had recently convened a meeting, has devised
strategies to demand discussion on various issues pertaining to the government initiatives as well as problems pertaining to people in the State.
Irrigation and Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao said the State government was considering introduction of eight bills in the Assembly during the ensuing session. Though he did not elaborate further, sources said the government was likely to make amendments to the PD Act and the Gaming Gambling Act in the State which were already approved by the State Cabinet.
