Hyderabad: A special session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council will be held on Sunday, (April 30) to bring a new Act to prevent the sale of spurious seeds and amending the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill.
A press release issued by the Secretary to State Legislature S Raja Sadaram, maintained that the third meeting of the seventh session of Telangana Assembly would begin from 11 am and council session at 3 pm on the same day.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) for the both houses will be held on Saturday to decide business of the houses. The one-day
session was necessitated to bring new Act to curb supply of spurious seeds as assured by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao during the party plenary meeting besides amending the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill according to the suggestion made by the Union Law Ministry.
Official sources said that the centre had suggested a few minor changes to the Land Acquisition Bill. State government had already deployed Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) RR Mena and Telangana Resident Commissioner in Delhi Arvind Kumar to get a nod from the centre for the Bill.
