The Telangana state Cabinet has passed a resolution expressing deep sorrow at the heavy toll in the devastating landslides in Wayanad. It extended sympathies to the bereaved families. The Cabinet also pledged to provide necessary relief measures for those affected by the calamity. The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Revanth Reddy was held in the premises of Legislative Assembly after the House was adjourned for the day in Hyderabad last evening.
Briefing the media later, Information and Public Relations Minister P. Srinivas Reddy said, the Cabinet has decided to
issue Arogyasri health cards, and white ration cards separately to all the eligible families. He said that health cards will have health profiles of all residents. A Cabinet sub-committee, comprising the revenue, health and civil supplies ministers, has been formed to finalise the procedures for this initiative.
The Telangana Cabinet also approved allotment of 600 square yard house sites in Hyderabad to sportspersons Isha Singh, Nikhat Zareen and Mohammed Siraj. Nikhat and Siraj will also be provided Group 1 jobs.
