Cabinet will meet this afternoon in Hyderabad to discuss measures to be taken
to overcome the problems of people arising due to demonetization of 500 and
1000 rupees notes. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao held a high level review
meeting in Hyderabad last evening over the effects of demonetization in the
State.
He asked the State
Chief Secretary to instruct District Collectors to hold talks with bankers on
cashless transactions and educate people about the move. He also constituted
a
five-member committee comprising senior IAS officers to work-out modalities for
preparing a policy towards cashless e-payment system in the state.
Later, a release from CM office said, the government could not be a mere spectator to the situation and there should not be any stalemate in transactions since it is concerned to lakhs of people in the State. The State Government has also directed Finance Secretary Ramakrishna Rao to prepare a detailed note over the scenario in the state relating to demonetisation.
