The State Cabinet is likely to take crucial decisions with regard to making alternate transport arrangements for the public during its meeting scheduled to be held at Pragati Bhavan on Saturday. The meeting which is likely to commence at 3 pm, will also discuss several other crucial issues including the proposed municipal elections in the State.
The State Cabinet is likely to approve the proposal for hiring private services and issuing permits to private operators on about 4,000 routes across the State. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is learnt to have taken stock of the strike during a brief meeting with Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar and
officials, where he was informed about the proceedings in the State High Court on Friday. He reportedly asked the Transport officials to provide complete information to the State Cabinet before it takes a decision with regard to making alternate arrangements.
The Cabinet is also expected to discuss municipal elections, which are likely to be held in the mid of November, release of funds and plans for ‘Pattana Pragati’ programme in municipalities on the lines of the successful ‘Palle Pragati’ programme, the proposed Revenue Act, procurement of kharif crops and the ban on single-use plastic.
