The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana revealed that cash, gold and liquor worth over 37 crore were seized during the past four days in compliance with the election model code of conduct. Seizures included 20.43 crore rupees in in cash, 14.65 crore in gold, silver and diamonds, 86.92 lakh rupees in liquor and 89 lakh rupees worth of Ganja.
The Seizure, MCC and Law and Order report in connection with Elections to the State Legislature 2023, further revealed that amongst the other
items and freebies discovered during the vehicle checks in the last four days were over 7 thousand kgs of rice worth 22.5 lakh rupees, 440 sarees, 80 sewing machines, 87 cookers and one vehicle.
So far, 1,196 cases were also filed under the preventative provisions of the CrPC. A total of 100 companies of the Central Armed Police Force were deployed to Telangana which will be submitting a detailed report by 20th of this month.
