In Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched the ‘Rajiv Yuva Vikasam’ scheme on the Assembly premises last evening. The scheme provides self-employment loans to youths from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and Minority communities. It is expected to create self-employment opportunities for five lakh unemployed youth across the state. The government has allocated six thousand crore rupees for the initiative, reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and economic development.
According to the government
notification, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of up to 3 lakh rupees to establish self-employment units. The scrutiny of applications will begin next month, and selected beneficiaries will receive concessional loan sanction documents on June 2nd, Telangana Formation Day.
Under the scheme, loans up to One lakh rupees will receive an 80 per cent subsidy, those up to Two lakhs will get a 70 per cent subsidy, and loans up to Three lakh will be eligible for a 60 per cent subsidy.
