The Congress, which is making all possible efforts to regain its lost ground in the state by launching agitations on issues concerning people, is all set to hold another programme against demonetisation of high-value currency.
The TPCC will hold ‘Jana Avedana Sammelanam,’ a state-level convention, as part of the anti-demonetisation campaign at Jayalakshmi Gardens in Secunderabad on Friday.
During the day-long event, to be attended by its senior leaders and workers from across the state, AICC chief spokesperson Randip Singh Surjewala and Karnataka minister D K Shivakumar will explain about the hardships caused by various sections of people because of “unplanned” execution of demonetisation move by the
Centre.
For the first time, the Congress state leadership is roping in some of the editors of various newspapers to tell its cadres how the “unplanned demonetisation” move had badly hit the country’s GDP. In its bid to cash in on the resentment among some sections of people over demonetisation, the TPCC leadership has so far organised dharnas, rallies and other forms of protests across the state, besides a dharna in front of RBI regional headquarters here recently.
After reviewing the preparations for the Friday’s convention, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the way prime minister Narendra Modi had executed demonetistaion decision “impulsively”, proved that Modi had become a despot.
