Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee will be president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka told reporterters that by encouraging defections from Congress and TDP into its fold, TRS was adopting unconstitutional methods in its bid to wipe out presence of any elected opposition in the State.
TRS is relentlessly pursuing our MLAs, Uttam Kumar Reddy said. And in
protest against his attitude of the TRS, Congress will boycott the MLC polls, he said.
Though Congress won 19 seats in the Assembly, with four of its MLAs announcing their decision to join TRS, Congress will have only 15 votes for its candidate in the MLC election. It needs 21 votes for ensuring victory of its candidate and was counting on its 19 votes along with two from TDP.
However, one TDP MLA Has also said he was joining the TRS leaving Congress with far fewer votes than needed for its candidate.
