Telangana contract lecturers' salary hiked

The state government on Wednesday enhanced the monthly remuneration of 435 contract lecturers working in government polytechnics, from the present `28,500 per month to `40,270 per month.

Higher education department special chief secretary Ranjeev R Acharya issued the orders following a letter from the commissioner of technical education stating that the contract lecturers were performing official duties on par with regular teaching staff



and requested for a sanction of minimum pay in the time scale of PRC, 2015 to contract lecturers to meet their growing expenses.

The minimum pay scales attached to the post of lecturers in government polytechnics in revised pay scales' 2015 is `40,270. Additional financial commitment on the government exchequer would be `5,11,99,500 only for 435 contract lecturers working in government polytechnics.
