Parts of Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts experienced mild tremors for two-three seconds early on Wednesday.

An earthquake with a 5.3 magnitude on the Richter scale, with Mulugu as its epicentre at a depth of 40 km, occurred at 7.27 am in Warangal, Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam, Khammam and other areas.

People said they felt tremors in Luxettipet, Jaipur,



Mancherial, Kasipet, Dandepalli and Hajipur mandals around 7 am. They stated that they left their homes fearing that their houses would collapse due to the earthquake. They claimed that utensils fell off racks and walls cracked due to the impact of the tremors.

Residents of Bejjur, Koutala, Asifabad and Wankidi, among other areas, also witnessed mild tremors at 7 am.
