Telangana Express, connecting Hyderabad to New Delhi, will soon see itself getting wrapped with the colours of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), the government-owned coal producing giant of India and also a premier freight customer of the Railways.
The tie-up is as an offshoot of the Railway Board’s innovative scheme to offer exteriors of select passenger trains to government departments /public sector undertakings for advertisements, following which the Secunderabad division has successfully negotiated a tie-up with SCCL.
The coal firm has picked up one rake of Train No. 12723/12724 Hyderabad - New Delhi - Hyderabad Telangana Express comprising 21 coaches for advertising through vinyl wrapping, paying a licence fee of Rs. 50 lakh. This
initiative of offering trains for advertising on exterior of coaches is the first of its kind over the zone and only the third on Indian Railways, according to General Manager Gajanan Mallya. This innovative advertising avenue lays stress on aesthetics of the trains, so that the basic visibility is not compromised.
The objective of the policy is to offer its mobile assets in the form of internal and external coach space for advertisements to open avenue of revenue generation, said railway officials. “We are in the process of marketing select trains on the zone for the government wings to utilise for their brand building with the first tie-up with SCCL acting as the model, said chief public relations officer Ch.
