Telangana State was today adjudged with four prestigious awards at national level for its stupendous job of implementing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Delhi.
The awards were given to concerned officials of the state in an expo of 10th anniversary celebrations. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Rural Development minister
Birendra Singh Chowdhary gave away the awards to special chief secretary SP Singh, rural development director Anitha Ramachandran, social audit director Soumya Kidambi. Four awards were given for social inclusion, transparency and accountability and Nizamabad district Collector Yogitha Rana received the award for the best measures and Chandurti (Karimnagar district) is the best village and its Sarpanch G Prabhakar received the award. At the expo a success story was presented about how a daily wage worker K Venkatram Reddy of Raghavapur village in Sidhipet mandal of Medak district eking out his livelihood under employment guarantee scheme became a successful farmer.
