The Haj Committee of India has allocated a total Haj Quota of 3,367 for the Telangana State for Haj 2017, informed Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S.A. Shukoor on Friday.
Prof. Shukoor said that the Qurrah (Draw of lots) for selection of Haj pilgrims of Haj 2017 from Telangana State would be held on at 11:00 am on March 18 in the premises of Haj House in Nampally. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali will inaugurate the Qurrah.
He further said that out of the allocated Haj Quota of 3367, all
the 3037 Haj pilgrims under two reserved categories of 70+ years (743) and fourth timers (2294) would be selected automatically without Qurrah. Therefore, he said that Qurrah would be held for the remaining 330 Haj Seats. The Telangana State Haj Committee received a total of 20,601 Haj Applications which include 743 applications under Reserve Category ‘A’ (70 + years) and 2,294 Haj applications under Reserved category ‘B’ fourth timers. In General category altogether 17,564 Haj Applications were received this year.
