The state government has rejected the demand for restoration of the old pension scheme (OPS). Replying to Congress during question hour in Assembly on Wednesday, finance minister E Rajender said Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) is better than OPS.
Under OPS, if a headmaster retires he will get benefits of Rs 43 lakh and a pension of Rs 31,000 per month. Under CPS, if a headmaster retires he
will get Rs 78 lakh and pension of Rs 53,000 per month. Irrigation projects: Irrigation minister T Harish Rao said 11 ongoing irrigation projects in the state were included in PMKSY. Grants to AMS: Health minister C Laxma Reddy said the state will consider reviving the facilities and grants to Andhra Mahila Sabha, which has been renamed as Deshmukh Mahila Sabha, after holding a meeting.
