The State government has released another Rs 200 crore for the implementation of Telangana Dalit Bandhu in the Huzurabad constituency on a pilot basis. This is in addition to the Rs 1,000 crore released earlier in two instalments.
The government is scheduled to release another Rs 800 crore by August-end, taking the total to Rs 2,000 crore.
After launching the scheme in Huzurabad recently, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had
directed the officials to release Rs 2,000 crore for the pilot project. The aim is to provide Rs 10 lakh each to more than 20,000 Dalit families in the Huzurabad constituency.
This is to help each Dalit family start its own business or self-employment programme as part of the efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of the community in the State. The scheme will subsequently be implemented all over the State.
