Health Minister C Laxma Reddy said they would soon issue free bus passes to kidney patients in the State to help patients travel to hospitals. He was responding to queries of patients, who broached their hardships while travelling to hospitals, during the inauguration of Dialysis Centre at Government Hospital in Siddipet here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said the kidney patients and their family members need to visit hospital twice a week spending a lot of money on transportation. Besides providing free treatment to kidney patients by establishing 40 dialysis centres across government hospitals in Telangana, the Minister said they have decided to issue bus passes to those who were
undergoing dialysis.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had conceived the idea of setting up dialysis centres at the government hospitals, the Minister said that they had been continuously working to improve the facilities besides equipping them with high-end ultramodern machinery. He further said they can proudly say that the government hospitals were provided with the best equipment compared to the corporate ones in the State.
Stating that they had also set up an ICU at Siddipet hospital, he said they have decided to set up 20 new ICUs (intensive care units) across Telangana to provide emergency healthcare free of cost to all the people.
