The State government has declared a public holiday on April 11, when polling for the 17 Parliamentary constituencies in the State would be held.
The State government also declared local holiday for government institutions in the districts on the eve of polling on April 10.
According to a Government Order, the State government declared holidays on
April 10 and 11 in connection with the polling since government buildings and educational institutions will be utilised for setting up polling stations.
Similarly, all the District Collectors and District Election Officers are authorized to declare a local holiday on May 23, if necessary, as counting of votes will be held.
