About four lakh employees and pensioners have to wait longer to get their Pay Revision Commission arrears amounting to Rs 3,400 crore. It has been nearly 20 months since the government first announced the measure, and has remained remained non-committal over paying it.
The government announced 43 per cent fitment (basic pay hike) for staff in March 2015. It was decided to implement it with retrospective effect from June 2014, when TS was formed. With this, the government owed nine months of

arrears to staff.
“There are no instances where employees were paid PRC arrears. But we have decided to pay them arrears in appreciation of their role in Telangana statehood movement and being a employee-friendly government. However, there was delay in payment due to financial constraints. We will pay the arrears at the earliest at an appropriate time,” Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said. BJP floor leader G. Kishan Reddy expressed anguish over the delay in payment of arrears.
